Making refresher training for GMP more interesting
I really wish to make training on food safety more interesting and inter active .

Maybe you can try incorporating 3-5 minute workshops that are fun? We normally have 1 or 2 games and reward the winning group to keep the participants interested.

I like both Tony-C and Dj.E's ideas. We actually do something similar to Dj.E's advice. We give out prizes for lightning rounds (Alchemy training system). If you are using pen/paper or powerpoint type training, you can ask 10 or 15 questions. Whoever gets the most answers right gets a prize. You can do this verbally or by quiz. Alchemy is neat because it does that for you, and at the end of the session, you know who wins. People get competitive and you can tell they are more interested in the training process.

I took a look at the link you provided. I can't imagine eating food and finding one of those "surprises". I might incorporate something like that into future training topics. Gross, but useful!

Currently I've been using a "dated" training video where they show bad practices. Its so corny that people actually pay attention to it, then a week later follow up with a short quiz.
We did 'jeopardy' one year, this year, there were cookies(nut free of course). More visual, less words, making it a competition between departments when asking questions, all these could make it fun.
More as a method of competency assessment or as part of the training, I've used Clicklearner in the past. No idea of the cost but this is their website:

Basically you take real video then you can set up "clicks" when you want someone to click a mouse to record they've seen something. The way we used it was to show good and bad practice on GMP and you "click" when you saw bad practice then it would show you your score at the end. It's a bit like "spot the error" pictures but real life in a place they know. One thing is that you will need someone who can go in and take video without everyone correcting the practices they would normally do, so having your Technical Manager with a camera isn't going to work...
