Cleaning- removing PLU/Stickers from conveyor
Hello everyone.
Stone fruit facility that applies PLU's (Price look up) stickers on product at production.
My question is what are you doing to remove the stickers that end up on the conveyors. Currently the sanitation team is spending hours every evening removing the stickers from the conveyor line. The sticker supplier can not recommend a product to use. We are using food grade degreaser.
Do any of you run into the same situation?
Being in California, we can't use an orange oil with d-limonene, a degreaser used in other states. It's banned in California and it does remove the PLU sticker just fine.
I'm hoping to find a product that is food grade and permitted in California.
Thanks in advance!

Hi CaliforniaFS
It is common problem.
I suggest you visit the following link. This company has many food grade degreasers

Talk to them to find out which one is approved in California

I had the same problem in a retail poultry plant (with the PLU's, not Cali regs :ejut: ), and degerasing + scrubbing was the way to go.
Maybe using some of the degreasers from EcoLink, like their NAVSOLVE? http://www.ecolink.c...s/productguide/
