11.2.13 Cleaning and sanitation
Hello
i am working to implement section 11.2.13. I created a cleaning schedule, i am still working on my cleaning and sanitation draft sop
Please can anyone share an example of cleaning and sanitation procedure?
I can't imagine SQF would find fault with this guide.

Full disclosure: My SSOP's meet the requirements of BRC, but are not EVEN close to the level of content in the link above.

Hi maria,
I have attached a few samples of sop/ssop's from various sources below which may give you some ideas for layouts.
I also thought next 2 links looked quite useful in a generic sense -

http://food.unl.edu/...ting-procedures
(meat oriented but some general value IMO, site's layout is a bit laborious on my PC)
Plus a very similar (short) thread to yr own is here with a few comments -

PS - this thread may also be of some interest regarding Master document (other examples exist elsewhere including FDA, from memory)

PPS - depending on yr product/process the C&S topic may overlap allergens also. Some sops for allergen control already exist on this forum.
Thank you guys for your help and support
How can I address pre-operational inspection when my facility runs 24/7 365. Our process is a continuous nonstop process. The only time our process stops is for equipment failure and that's rare. Back ground: We make vegetable oil the process is completely enclosed and both the product and process are very low risk. The only time the system gets opened is to change inline bag filters or for maintenance to replace something.(We have a Breach Procedure to address this) We recently had a GAP audit done preparing for SQF level II, the auditor said we needed a pre-operation inspection SOP. What are we to inspect? :helpplease:
Any direction would be greatly appreciated.
Is it routinely checked for Micro levels perhaps? Pre operation inspection usually means checking for cleanliness and safe operation checks before commencing use of (E-stops and the like?)........ in the simplest terms anyway

Because of the nature of the product and the process micro test is only done at random annually. Being that the system is enclosed it presents more risk to open the system up and inspect it.
Your pre-op could be run at each shift changeover and needs to include things like Hygiene, so it's not just limited to the process of the product.
Yes JCoomes but what about your employees? They don't work 24/7, so what happens inbetween shift changes. Is one shift leaving trash in a barrel or not sweeping the floor? Have you ever walked in to start your shift and someone from the night before left a sweatshirt near production? Did the floors get mopped last night? How do the bathrooms look? You have less of a pre-operational and more a pre-shift report to do.
Hi jcoomes,
Yr previous posts sort of suggest that you hv no Sanitation Control Program (SCP) implemented at all which I'm sure is not the case.
So what does yr current SCP consist of ?
