How to differentiate p.fluorescence from p.aeruginosa?
Hai.As i need to isolate p.flouoroscenes and I have isolated few bacteria from soil.I have got gram neagative long rod and it producing yellowish green colored colony.I heard that only p.aeruginosa can grow at 42C.so I have incubated at same temp.it grows but failed to produce any pigmentation.our lab doesn't have enough infrastructure to conduct too many biochemical test for identification. On TSA plate its producing greenish yellow pigmentation.I would be greatful if someone help me to solve this.is there any specific test for P.fluoroscenes?
Hi Raj,
Please don't post duplicate topics.
Sorry sir..
Hi Raj,
No problem.
Seems that various Pseudomonas species produce pigments.
Maybe no quick test.
Never worked with P.fluorescens myself but an official procedure to differentiate from P.aeruginosa is here -

Looks not so simple to me but depending on yr lab resources. If limited maybe quicker to send outside if you can get a pure sample.
This link may help a little but also suggests referring to their main site -

Most people are seeking procedures for P. aeruginosa of course.
Hi Raj,
a general procedure for separation/identification of various Pseudomonas species inc. P.fluorescens is given in attachment below -

looks like makes use of API kit + biochem. testing.
