STS Public Sector Audit

Hi all,

Has anyone undergone an STS Public Sector audit recently? How did you find it? And how long did the analysis of your action point evidence take? Asking as we've just sent our evidence away for our first audit and we've never been audited to this level before. Not going to lie, I found it seriously stressful having to go though the whole thing!

Also has anyone ever had a SALSA audit to include STS standards? We specifically requested that the SALSA audit we had a month beforehand included STS standards for our manufacturing side of our business (which we passed) but when our STS auditor arrived she claimed she had never heard of such an idea and said she'd have to assess the manufacturing area again. Anyone else got any experience of this?

Hi Andy,

It seems that you didn't need to have both audits:

SALSA acceptance widens to the public sector

Another milestone in the recognition of the Standard, SALSA members are now able to take advantage of new public sector market opportunities and benefits through a new SALSA-STS certification alliance.

STS, the Surrey-based company which provides UK-wide supplier certification of food safety, for food businesses, have confirmed their acceptance of SALSA approval into their existing supplier assessment programme.

Kind regards,

Tony

Thanks Tony, that link you've sent basically backs up what we thought prior to the second audit. I'll be using that as evidence to back our point up next year! Either we've had our pants pulled right down or there's been a horrendous lack of communication between auditing bodies and their independent auditors

Hi Andy,

I would have thought you are also entitled to -

(1) an abject apology

(2) a refund

No problem Andy but I think you've caught them in a Paddy Pantsdown:
