Alternative to using tape to post instructions or safety information
We were recently audited by one of our customers who wants a corrective action to us using tape to work instructions or safety information out in the plant. We cannot use tacks or staples as this will damage the walls or equipment that we want to adhere them to. Anyone have a suggestion?

Can you not possibly laminate the documents that are needed?
If no damaged is wanted are you able have a Plastic board up on the wall and then place all documents in one area.

If you have any metal surfaces you can use then magnetic tape is a good solution and something we use a lot of. Failing that we also use double sided sticky pads which come off easily.

We do a few things at our plant:
- If we can, we'll laminate it and use a magnetic strip to let it stick to a machine;
- We have several work instructions held in departmental binders that are stored in a central area of the department or at a specific machine; and
- We have those stand-alone magnetic whiteboards placed in a few areas. One side is for production notes/announcements and the other is for work instructions/safety signs.
You may also be able to store work instructions on a computer workstation for a line, if you have them. I don't recommend it unless you have a way to remotely update the work instructions on each station all at once, however (it would be such a pain to go to each station for a separate update).
For safety things, you could also try installing and using a few tv/computer screens on the wall that just play general plant safety information on a loop.

I'm not sure if you have them where you are but after laminating you should get those 3M removable wall strips. That way it's clean, almost zero chance of tearing and easy to remove when you need to update a procedure.
