Food contact labelling in EU, according to Reg 1935/04

Hi

According to Reg 1935/04, materials and articles not yet in contact with food when placed on the market shall be accompanied with the words "For food contact" or a graphic symbol like the one with a cup and a fork.

At marketing stages other than retail, this information can be included in:

(a) the accompanying documents; or

(b) the labels or packaging; or

© the materials and articles themselves

What´s the meaning of "accompanying documents"?

I don´t find any definition in the Regulation itself.

Maybe the delivery note? Declaration of compliance?

For a paper producer (the paper is delivered in reels), what would it be the best place to include such information?

Thank you in advance

Exactly.  On delivery documents, DOC,COA, COC, specifications etc.

Whatever docs you supply.

Thank you Simon,

The point is that we only provide our DoC by request.

In that case, since we have to inform our customer about the suitability of our products for food contact, is it better to include the symbol on the label?

Thank you in advance
