Any alternative for string mops
Hi Everyone,
Hope you all have a nice weekend ahead
Considering a business blend/pack mainly powder products e.g. Sugar, Cornflour, protein powder etc.
The standard we following said:
"Mops should not be used in production or storage areas unless the mop head is renewed after each use occasion"
I need to find an alternative for mops to comply with above,
single use mop would be expensive
No scrubbing machine in place
No floor washing (no rinse)
At the moment our procedure to clean the floor is : sweeping then mopping
It would be appreciate if you share your experience or suggestion
Many thanks
If you have laundry on site, I would get a whole bunch of microfiber mop heads and put them into rotation as single use then wash. You can get a lot of them in the washing machine, they work surprisingly well for mopping, and are durable. That meets the standard of "renewing" them, so they don't accumulate bacteria between reuse. You might be able to sell this investment to your management team with an ROI calculation.
Alternatively, if you don't have laundry on site, you can use string mop heads or the above and schedule a pickup laundry service (many uniform washing services provide this option).
We've got a floor scrubbing machine, but it still doesn't replace the need for mops and we utilize a laundry service as stated above to keep our mops "fresh".
