I am Andy and I work in the R&D department of a printer manufacturer. I want to learn which requirements are important for food packaging printing for the EU market and especially for the US market.

Thanks to Simon and the Food Safety Friday Webinars - excellent speakers and very helpful Information!

Hi Andy,

It's important to us to have assurance that the label information is correct. When labels are updated or changed, we would like all old labels destroyed so they won't accidentally be shipped. Same goes for printing plates, some companies want evidence of the destruction, a picture will do. All digital files need to be destroyed as well. Label errors are the number one cause of food product recalls in the U.S. right now. This really comes into play in the area of allergens.

Color accuracy is very important too, since products will be stacked next to each other on supermarket shelves, the must look identical.

Best,

Allison
