Dietary Ingredients in BRC Standard

I started with a new company that packages dietary ingredients: chia seeds, maca powder, etc.

Is this under food for BRC?

My intuition is yes, but I ask because presently we do NSF food safety audits and they classify us differently than food.

I would like to make sure before I get too far in my program set-up under BRC.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I would interpret these as falling into into category 15 of the BRC standard for food safety possibly 5/6 as well depending on the exact nature of product. Depending on the nature of the activities (ie youre just relabelling / branding on site you may also consider the wholesale voluntary module under the storage and distribution standard - though i suspect you are completely repacking yourself which would fit better under food

Yes I would see them as food under BRC.

Thanks all for the verification  :happydance:
