Labeling of Preservatives/Additives
When using a new ingredient containing "less than 2% silicon dioxide" is it necessary to list silicon dioxide (anti-caking agent) as a subingredient on an ingredient listing for a final overall product?
Hi QA,
Labeling of incidental additives got pretty good coverage here: http://www.ifsqn.com...processing-aid/
Hi,
the question is "Does the sillicon dioxide still fulfill a function in the final product ?". The answer for the EU would be that no declaration is necessary if the anti caking (e.g. keep salt free flowing for automatic dosage) does not have the function in the finished product, e.g. any RTE with salt in the recipe (I do not cover application of nanotechnology here).
