Help me understand this lab test result!
I sent away a pack of product from the first batch on the line after an allergen product (cake containing egg) changeover to 4sq caramel shortcake (no allergens) to 'validate' the cleaning/sanitation.
So it was submitted for the presence of egg. I got the following result but i don't understand enough to know if this is bad, good , expected or a problem!

It says that there is less than 0.4 parts per million of Egg White Protein detected. What is the limit or target that you wish to achieve? I know ideally it would be zero, but is there an acceptable limit set somewhere?
Hi,
PPM stands for parts per million.
i dont know it is 0.4 or 805 ppm but 1 ppm = 0.001mg/g.
hope this can help you!
Call the lab...however, it appears to me:
805 PPM is the measured PPM of egg allergen.
The detection limit of the test is 0.4 PPM.
Call the lab to find out. If that's the case you have to hold that product and conduct further testing. Good luck!
