Zip Ties or Twist Ties for packaging of polythene bags?

Which type of ties are best for packaging of polythene bags, i am using zip ties currently and is there any alternative of these type of ties? Please give me suggestion guys.

Zip ties, twist ties, metaldetectable ties, metal clips?

In my previous life we used zip ties on our PE bags inside of drums.  The drums were sealed with a tamper evident seal and seal numbers were on the inventory and shipping records.

A zip tie, in and of itself, does not constitute "tamper evident".

Hello all, also in need of help on this same topic.

We are only sealing WIP product to maintain freshness not to tamper evident. 

WiP product is then packaged into sealed bags, but unfortunately these metal detectable ties sometimes make their way onto product flow causing down time. 

are there zip tie dispensers out there?

Need to determine root cause, are they ending up in the product because they're difficult to work with, you have a bad procedure in place, or are workers simply being careless and will end up with any kind of tie in the product flow?

Being careless is probably best answer, temp workers performing these jobs. 

Train and re-train on proper disposal of twist ties. With designated trash bins next to work station, and poster boards. 

Will work for couple of days and then see a spike in incidents, with same staff or new workers.

If it's for WIP, use larger than required bags and fold them in on themselves...........if you tuck tightly enough you get an almost airtight seal. You'll not only reduce your downtime but will also reduce expenses

(that's how most poultry in cartons are closed in side the carton)

As for finished product, may I suggest tape?  You all remember the red tape that is still sometimes used on produce bags that is sooooo sticky you can't pull it apart?!?  Clearly tamper evident, and could probably be printed with company logo

Well, if there's one twist-tie per bag and you know how many bags you used in a run, you could count them all at the end of the run.

Not saying you should put the product on hold if you end up one short, but the sheer fact that you're counting them will force workers to pay attention because they know you are and they want that number to come out happy at the end of the day.

We will try to eliminate ties altogether by testing with bigger bags, both process and quality of product.
