Acceptable levels for metal, glass or any foreign bodies?
Hi all
I need help, I had a finding on the HACCP " Metal was absent on my acceptable levels. " a friend of mine advices me to look up for the FDA but I cannot find the document where is it justifying or giving the expectable levels for metal or glass or any foreign bodies.

Hi Wendy,
If you mean USFDA, it's probably this -
https://www.fda.gov/...l/ucm074554.htm
However you may find the above document not entirely satisfactory/definitive.
A more "specific" alternative is this Canadian viewpoint -

Hi Charles,
Apologies for digging up an old thread.
we are a company which does puddings in ceramics and unfortunately metal detector won't work for us. We are using X ray, but we don't send all products currently through it.
we have sieving as CCP with a fine mesh 1mm. Can we consider the above Canadian link as scientific evidence for the critical limit?
also, how do we check the integrity of sieve?. we check it on a daily basis in opening and closing checks.will this be enough or do we need to check it for every batch?.
also, it will be a manual visual check for the sieves. will this be enough?.
Regards
Vikram
Hi vrnarla,
Looks like yr query is duplicated in the new thread below so replies are probably better posted there.
