I work for a food processing facility and a customer is requiring us to be FSMA certified. We process under HACCP, we are registered with FDA, and we are audited by DSHS and USDC. What would be our next step?

You need to complete PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) Training.  Once this has been completed you then need to reassess your food safety plans and update to the HARPC format including the added preventive controls.  You do not certify your facility only become compliant to the rules, the training provides a certificate that is then referenced to a certificate number for tracking, etc.  The training will outline all the requirements that will need to be implemented.

It depends on what you're processing.  For example, 100% Juice is still under HACCP.  What are you doing in your facility that the customer wants FSMA compliance?

We process NRTE frozen vegetables for this customer.

There are multiple companies that do FSMA PCQI certs. Also there is good info all over the FDA and other sites.....
