Hello everybody!

There is a new element 11.2.9.1. in SQF v.8 "Specifications  for equipment, utensils and protective clothing, and procedures for purchasing equipment shall be documented and implemented".

Do we need to create new specification for QC laboratory's equipment, which we have and use already and don't plan to buy the new one?

Thank you for your advises!

Unless I am mistaken but you have to write the specifications because equipment/utensils are not permanentand will need replacing.

I personally would just list all of the requirements per USDA/FDA and SQF that your equipment already pertains to. In the event that the lab equipment breaks down, you, or other people purchasing, know exactly what to buy.
