From ISO 22000 to BRC can we still use the term OPRP?

Dear colleagues, if the packaging company had an ISO 22000 system and was willing to implement BRC 5 for packaging, can it retain the name of the control points as OPRP 1, for example?

I would say yes.  The important point is you have prerequisite and specific control measures in place and you can demonstrate that you meet the requirements of the BRC Standard with your systems.  The standard doesn't tell you how to write and what to say in your program.

Hello Alina,

This should not be an issue. Whatever you call it, as long as it contains the elements that the clause requires; a competent auditor should understand this.

Just be very clear definition the term.

Hi Alina,

IMO it depends on the context.

I assume "OPRP1" was the location of some process activity whereby a hazard existed whose significance necessitated the use of an OPRP control measure.

I opine that hazards considered as appropriate to require an OPRP in iso22000 will not necessarily be regarded identically for BRC Packaging.

The specific name is irrelevant (albeit IMO illogical for BRC purposes) but the meaning may not be.
