Hi!

I have read every topic on this site and found a few helpful things to get 2.4.8 up and running at our plastics plant, but I am still lacking in some areas.

If you can help me in any way id great appreciate it!

We manufacture plastic jars, by the read of 2.4.8 there's no way around implementing some sort of program. So here are my questions.

1. What pathogens should I be testing for?

2. What areas should I even be testing?

3. I keep hearing and reading the word zone, is this in reference to Geographical?

4. is this as simple as swabbing hands once a quarter?

5. Does anyone have any suggestions on an accredited lab to use?

I am not going to have any issues writing up a SOP, Schedule and such, I just want to make sure I am testing for the correct things.

Love,

Loni

(APC is not a pathogen of course).

Hi Loni,

Charles,

I never said that APC it is a pathogen. I gave to the people an example of the procedure that i was working on and procedure was not finished yet and also if You look at the procedure purpose its say: To make sure that cleaning practices are effective. I did not told anybody to do the sam way i did.

So if we are talking specifically to the pathogens then i have a procedure for testing the product for pathogens, specifically to my type of product.

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks to everyone help on this. I have been in contact with Certified Labs, and a wonderful Microbiologist is helping me. We figured out what tests I should be doing, and what Zone I am in.

I am a Zone 4 only because our packaging comes in direct contact with food. But since we don't actually produce food in the facility we are safe to test quarterly for Listeria, Enterobacteriaceae and an APC.

I am now in the process of putting together the process and schedule of when and what we will test.
