Is film required to protect against breakage of glass windows?

Hello,
Referring to BRC7 4.4.8.
Is it necessary to apply a film to protect against breakage on glass windows produced according EN12150 (thermally toughened soda lime silicate safety glass)?
Thanks for your reaction.
Olaf
Do non-food contact labels and film overwrap have to be covered when stored?

Hi Olaf,
It would depend on the location of the window, there is no standard for glass or film specified. If there is a risk then the window should be protected by adhesive film.
BRC Requirement: 4.4.8 Where they pose a risk to product, glass windows shall be protected against breakage.
BRC Guidance: Interpretation Protection of windows against breakage
Where it has been assessed that glass windows pose a risk to product (e.g. where they are in close proximity to production or storage areas), they must be protected against breakage – for example by the use of adhesive plastic sheeting.

Kind regards,

Hi Tony,
The windows are in close proximity to the production. All glass windows are according EN12150. Is this sufficient or should we still apply film?
Olaf
Hi Olaf,
If a breakage would present a risk to product then yes I would be applying a film.
Kind regards,
Tony
Hi, I was hoping to get some help here. What kind of adhesive film is available to protect glass and hard objects from breakage?
Also looking for ones you can use on a screen, and.... If it's even possible tbe plastic covers on pressure gauges.
