Is there a clause similar to BRC 5.5.2 in FSSC 22000?

If you could reference the clause if it exists, that would be wonderful.

BRC specifically states:

"5.5.2 Product liners and bags purchased by the company for use in direct contact with ingredients, or work in
process, shall be appropriately colored and resistant to tearing to prevent accidental contamination.

Interpretation Product contact liners
Materials used as liners for containers, as covers for work in progress or as bags for prepared ingredients,
may themselves be a source of contamination. Such packaging materials must be visually distinct from
product (e.g. blue or red) and of a sufficient thickness to reduce the potential for ripping or being damaged.
Good practice is to ensure that bag and film gauges are documented and communicated to suppliers to
ensure only suitable materials are purchased.
The requirements only apply to materials purchased by the site. However, suppliers of raw materials should
also be strongly encouraged to supply ingredients in accordance with these requirements to reduce the
risk of packaging contaminating products.
Where companies are producing products for further processing, clear liners should not be used as they
present a potential hazard for the next manufacturer.
This clause does not apply to packaging used for sale to the final consumer."

Does FSSC 22000 SPECIFICALLY STATE, or at least IMPLY that you need to have a "appropriately colored" bag or liner?

Hello JPO,

BRC and ISO (FSSC 22000) don't work the same way : in BRC, you will find requirements of means (for example : use coloured materials to avoid foreign bodies), whereas the ISO norms require results (something along the lines of "an effective preventive plan for foreign bodies must be in place").

This is why you will not find such precise requirements in FSSC 22000.
