Trying to figure out what this means and how to answer.

Does the company have a system to ensure it is informed of changes in legislation, food safety & technical developments?

Essentially if they pass a new food safety or labeling law in your state, country, or countries/states of sale, how do you plan on making sure you hear about it?

Commonly in US people subscribe to FDA/USDA email notifications, state level notifications, and trade publications.

Hello,

During audits, show the auditor that your are subscribing from technical bulletin, magazines, blogs, gov't institutions, trade associations and seminars. Show them the emails you received. Show also the minutes of your meetings discussing any updates of legislation, standards, guidelines and requirements from country and the country you export your product.

Thank you to all

Actually, only an email, or a minute of meeting is not enough. It is expected to have a PDCA to be updated. I.e., a new regulation X: who is responsible to read & interpret it? And who to implement corresponding changes into facility: new records? New procedures? New analytical tests? Who is responsible to verify that this has agreed with the required level of compliance? Etc etc. This is not just "see an email of subscription" It goes much beyond those single elements answered.

Best regards,

Leila

Liela,

The OP specifically asked about this: Does the company have a system to ensure it is informed of changes in legislation, food safety & technical developments?

As long as you do, it meets the intent of the clause. Most GFSI standards are prescriptive. If the scheme tells you what you need to do, you are free to do it in any way that gets the job done.
