Internal Audit Schedule question

I am in the process of attempting to streamline our internal auditing program and I have one basic question:

We are currently working under SQF modules 2 and 11,  and I am wondering if it is a requirement to internally audit

EVERY clause in both modules?

We have 60 different clauses (elements) in our book, and that is an awful lot of auditing.

I would...........just like your HACCP reassessment. Break it into chunks following a monthly schedule

January (or when your production is slowest) section 2.4

February 2.1

March 2.2

so on and so on

Every where I have ever been it was done this way....no auditor worth their salt should expect a complex system internal audit to be performed once/year in it's entirety. I don't like the SQF verbiage either, its really a reassessment......not an internal audit

There used to be a handy checklist on SQFI's website, but I'm not seeing it now....
