Lumex FT-12 NIR analyzer
I am currently looking at buying a new grain analyzer for our mill and have never used Lumex and am curious about quality and reliability. We package and mill a few different grains from wheat, spelt, flax, etc. I am looking at getting the Lumex InfraLUM FT-12 which will test for the basics that we need. Would like to know opinions on the machine itself and the company Lumex if anyone has any.
Thanks,
Hi,
This is the first time I have come across this Brand.
We utilize a Perten Inframtic Analyser for our testing, it can be programmed to
process different types of Grain as well.
There is also another NIR Brand made by FOSS Analytics as well.
Perhaps comparing the 3 three brands might help you in your decision making.
Yes I know of Foss. I actually wanted the Foss DS2500 but my CFO wont approve the $75, 000 purchase. How has your experience been with the Perten brand? Is it able to test whole grains as well as milled grain?
Thanks for the help.
No experience with Foss as used for grains but used one for testing raw meat parameters and was very easy to use and maintain. I liked my experience with their company and customer service.
I used a Perten many moons ago - very versatile, we used for DDGs, MDGs and other corn ethanol by-products.
Two very different experiences, but I think I would prefer Foss.
The Perten works excellently. I can test whole grains and milled grains.
It also has the capabiity to test other items like soya beans etc.
The machine can be customed to your needs...there is also online
assitance and adjustment from remote location from Perten Technicians if
you are having any issues. The model I use is IM 9500; it comes with its own touch screen
and allows me to trend my results graphically.
