Required documentation for secondary packaging suppliers
Hey all, while putting together our Raw Material Hazard Analysis, are there any suggestions or recommendations on what to require from your provider of secondary packaging? primarily cardboard boxes for shipping purposes. Documents to have on file for audit?
Are your cardboard boxes coated? Is there any reason to believe the cardboard might have some residue that might impact food safety on your end? Ask the question(s) to your supplier.
There's not a lot to get for your cardboard boxes if there is not direct contact with your product, but it's still good to ask the questions, get the answers and file them accordingly and/ or add them to your HA.
Good Luck!
I can tell they need some kinds of analysis by lot and declarations like technical specification (could it sustain the weight of your products?), composition and safety of paper pulp (safe for food), moisture percentage, foodgrade of printing ink on the boxes and on stickers, etc.
hello,
What standard you're complying for?
