Must the SQF Practitioner review the daily QCP documents?
Does one have to be certified as a SQF Practitioner to review daily qcp documents. We have daily packets that must be reviewed, normally the SQF Practitioner performs this task. But sometimes he is doing the daily SQF Tasks and it needs to be reviewed by someone other then himself. Can anyone review? Does it have to be senior management, or may just a QA Tech, or a supervisor?
The documents are just daily checks on production, qcp's, quality control specs, security checking procedures, start up procedures, etc. Before the Plant Manager usually checks them, but he is always busy and doesn't have time to go through all the paperwork.
According to the FSPCA, Preventive Controls for Human Food, chapter 13, "Preventive Controls Qualified Individual", should be validating and verifying paperwork.

Not true, that person has to have oversight and supervison over those activities, but they don't have to perform them all themselves.
Whiteman, save yourself a boatload of trouble and anytime you have a program that says something needs to be signed/completed by the SQF practitioner, include the statement "or designee". That way anyone appropriately trained by the practitioner can complete the task at their instruction without violating your policies.
Thank you for your quick replies. Our documents currently just have a "Review by" line, so we are good. Thanks!
