Hello,

I was planning to put a ceiling and put a centralize aircon on our process area (desiccated coconuts and flour) to control the working environment. What type or ceiling or is there any specific standard  for that?

Thanks!

Anthony

Hi, Tonying.

In terms of hygiene, the recommended is to have as smooth surface, no cracks and crevices where powder may accumulate and any utilities that traverse through must be properly sealed. You can either use cement slab or sandwich panel.

On the ceiling, ensure that you minimize horizontal superstructures (h-beam, I-beam) where powder may accumulate.

If this is a "false ceiling" make sure you have provision where cleaning is possible. Normally false ceiling tend to accumulate dust and left unclean.

But if you are pertaining to support your air handling unit, best to consult engineers.
