Analysis for vegetable oil sample is giving the below results:

Mineral Oil/Hydrocarbon content

C10-C40   142 PPM

C10-C25   128 PPM

C25-C56   18 PPM

C10-C56   142 PPM

Which of the above is considered mineral oil

It should be ( C10 - C56 ) 142 ppm.
Hello,
Pls describe the method used. What product has been analysed? Or packaging?
We in Germany are often confronted with „mineral oil“ test results. We make a difference between MOSH and MOAH. Which part has been analysed here?
In some cases in the MOSH fractions are natural hydrocarbons (NOSH) or such from packaging (POSH) or even other. This type of analysis is far away from what is normally understood on „separation“ - hump instead of peaks.
Do you have seem the chromatography?

Hello,

Well there are multiple methods for the analysis of MOSH & MOAH like LC-GC-FID and NMR spectroscopy can also be done. Food stuff usually analysed for contamination specially for baker and confectioneries. MOAH which are more important to be analysed as more carsiogenic.
