International Standard for the Kilogram
A slightly (no - very) tongue in cheek posting here.
I see the International Kilogram in Paris has been found to be losing weight slowly over time (how do they know?).
The solid piece of metal is to be replaced with an electromechanical method of weight determination once everybody can agree on the method.
Will all of our weight calibration certificates need to be re-traced back to an new international standard? Are there other implications like increased giveaway of product?
I look forward to some humorous replies. I have already been asked if this is a post-Brexit move back to pounds and ounces.

I for one am sick of all the pound to kg conversions we are forced to do here in America!
Let's all go back to the good old days and bring back the imperial system.

It's obvious isn't it? Every few years they get a new group of work experience interns in, and whichever one draws the short straw has to disassemble the platinum bar and then count the atoms by hand as they reassemble it :ejut:
I think the craziest change could be that kgs/lbs are recognised as units of mass rather than weight ;)
If we actually measured product by the latter then it would vary between place of packing and place of sale due to the inherent natural variations in acceleration due to gravity.
Also yes, bring back imperial - decimal is far too confusing with everything being based on regular divisions of 10....

Maaaan, I am so freaking sick about converting kilograms to the other weight units, that is really stupid sometimes. I mean, I am dating a girl from Germany, and every time we start talking about weight or something related to it, we have to find for a good converter online, as it is really tough to remember all those units. Recently, I have been using the converters from https://www.rocknets...ounds-converter as they are really amazing and easy to use, it makes our communication way easier.
Why don't they add some more metal to it ?
