Hi Carmelo ,

You may use the below link , go to page 4 & 5 "Establish Corrective Action Procedures."

It is FDA document named "Fish and Fishery Products Hazards and Controls Guidance " , CHAPTER 20: Metal Inclusion ,I'm sure this is satisfactory for your need

https://www.fda.gov/...n/UCM252440.pdf

In your control plan and reports  you should assign responsible for the actions , for example the production supervisor should hold the product .....this means roles and responsibility of the corrective actions is clear , also the reporting system so document in place for audits or future investigations .

Ehab

Speaking only in the broadest generalities (since your question is also very general), you need to answer a few basic questions when it comes to your metal detectors.

1. What happens if the metal detector detects metal?  How does it happen?  Who does what?  Where do they document it? Who reviews it? How do you keep implicated product from leaving the facility?

2. What happens if you do a metal detector check and the detector does NOT detect the test material? How does it happen?  Who does what?  Where do they document it? Who reviews it? How do you keep implicated product from leaving the facility?

I will five you my experience on this.I work in a food factory that produce meat products like schnitzels and kebabs and things likw that mostly from chicken meat.We did have few times situation where the metal detector stop the packed product,we then put it aside and ooens the oackage and try to find the foreign metal particle.Sometimes it is so rhiny like a metal flake. After that its crutial to find out where is ir came from, and it is always completed with maintaining manager as well. After all we are making some preventing measures to prevent this to happen again.
