Hi Ravi,

Number of ways can be applied to assure effectiveness of food safety training.

Lets start from the base level where more challenges are always faced i.e. at bottom level where difficult to apply change.

1. Engagement of employees: Involvement of employees by floor meetings, listening and solving the day to day issues, motivation etc.

2. Simplify the process of implementation: Bottom level do not like paper filling, since they are feel practical work is main job, paper work is just waste of time, Need to share the importance in practical way as well as minimize the paper work by effective record maintenance.

3. Customized training:  Training material shall be customized as per the need of organisation, not the general one. If not possible than supervisor level shall breakdown the contents and explain the team based on practical way.

4. Training part of the team: If the training is part of the team, it will be wonderful. S/He can translate day to day challenges and situation with training contents, as well as trainer can fine tune the training as per organisation need.

Involvement of Management: Management involvement is a major driving tool to implement the training as well any food safety system.

There can be many more points write on this....

Kind regards

Inam

Hi Ravi,

1. Make ppt slides suitable to the business and include relevant topics which are specific to the work environment. For eg hand washing: make video with an employee doing hand washing sanitizing etc.. and include those in the ppt. Then present them. If the slide number increases, break into different modules... Target the existing employees and give refreshing training to them. Also make sure all the newly joined staff undergoes the training.

2. Training in the same language (both slides & presentation) would help a lot.

3. Prepare an exam based on the slide and just give a try.

4. After the training is over monitor them..

5. Give on the job training as well.

6. On your visits you can interview or watch are they practicing or applying the given training.

7. Monitor for any improvement in the attitude of the workers in terms of food safety

Follow-up quizzes some months later to check knowledge retention levels. Expect some drop-off.
