SQF 8.0: 2.1.2.3 - Food Safety Objectives

Good afternoon,

As per SQF 8.0

2.1.2.3 The senior site management shall ensure adequate resources are available to achieve food safety objectives and support the development, implementation, maintenance and ongoing improvement of the SQF System.

Can anybody help with examples for the objectives? Shall the objectives be measurable?

Thank you!

the short answer is not, they do not need measured; and they are objectives not MUSTS.

Somethings are either complete or not you cannot put a measure other than 0 on an objective that wasn't even started. Some projects get added in January and no one really understands the scale and scope of the project until they dive in.

HOWEVER, you should be measuring somethings for proof of continuous improvements (never mind these are big money losers);

# of pests in traps

# of times employees have to be told to wash hands (or something like that)

# of hours of rework (for various reasons)

# customer complaints

etc

1 Thank

Thank you!
