Good day,

What can I write the corrective action.

Picture sent us thru email.

Thanks.

Your corrective action will depend on what caused the problem and what you are doing to minimise the chances of a recurrence - there isn't a general answer to this as it is very much dependent on your product/process and the specific problem.

If you can provide more specific details about exactly what the product is, what type of straw has been found, whether these are used on your site, what your existing controls are etc then the people here may be able to provide a bit more guidance.

Hi jorena,

I agree with pHruit.

Another aspect is to attempt to determine whether the complaint is genuine. For example, see this recent thread -

Perhaps the customer would send the foriegn material back to you for invensitigation? Once you have the foreign material then you can do your best to determine 1) what it is 2) where it might have come from 3) how you can prevent a reoccurrence            ( corrective action plan)

Customers often make mistakes in interpreting "what" they may have found in a product.

Its difficult to impossible to create a corrective action if you don't know exactly what the foreign material is.

Hope that helps.

The real question is, what food safety issue(s) are there with straw in a product?  You know, did the straw go through the kill step?  Could it cause injury if bitten?  Is it an allergen?  I think you'll find that the answers are all "no".
