Hello Everyone!

 

My name's Nathaniel, and I'm the newly-hired SQF practitioner for a specialty coffee company. Adoption of robust food safety programs in the specialty coffee industry still seems to be fairly rare, but these forums have provided a wealth of useful information as I've gotten this project underway. 

 

Looking forward to working with and learning from all of you!

I was previously the SQF practitioner at a kombucha company and a QA/QC Specialist at a coffee company, but this is my first time pursuing SQF certification for a coffee company. Do you work in coffee as well?

Hey Nathaniel,

 

Sometimes ;) I currently work as a regulatory authority and I have a couple of local coffee companies that manufacture for wholesale and retail, so I inspect them for compliance with either retail or manufactured food regulations. I've been in the regulatory field for 13 years and I'm interested in broadening my horizons a bit and perhaps getting into the industry side of food safety. I've just started gathering information on SQF (from the auditing perspective.)
