GFSI knowledge exam

Hi,

In these days a new GFSI Knowledge exam has been introduced by the IFS, but I think this could be similar to the one used for SQF (this is my supposition). Is there anywhere an example of this? Are the questions related to the HACCP, GMP and so on?

Hi Michela.

I'm unclear what you are referring to by "Knowledge Exam" ?

Can you provide a link or some explanatory context ?

Not sure what a knowledge exam is for IFS and SQF does not have something like this, however the Auditor at an SQF audit can gig the Practitioner for not being fully knowlegable of their system.

Thanks for the link.

It seems to me SQF might just as effectively have deleted the word "knowledge". Unless perhaps they have reason to think that some current approved SQF auditors do lack "knowledge". Hmmm.

As you stated, this is a GFSI-inspired "scheme".  GFSI do offer a website link for details (see bottom of page) unfortunately the link does not go anywhere. Surprise !

Details of GFSI scope (= encyclopedic) are provided in the sub-link within yr own link. Seems to have taken GFSI 6 years to produce the "New" exam from the original document.

I also noticed on GFSI site

The GFSI Knowledge Exam requirement will go into effect on the 1st of July. After this date, all newly-recruited auditors must pass the Knowledge Exam before they can begin auditing for GFSI-recognised certification programmes. All current auditors, meanwhile, have until the end of 2021 to take the test. Despite this two-year grace period, the process of assessing all new and current auditors will be no small task.

Hi. Further more to above information, it would be appreciated if somebody can provide more details about such an exam if done by anybody.

If possible to be informed as of test contents and if there is any material that could be studied in advance toward the preparation process?

Also what would be the pass mark?

I have Lead Auditor certification and ready to go for third party auditing but the CB that wants to hire me asked this is a requirement prior to commencement for new auditors. In this post during Sept 2019 - there was a posting showing an exam arranged by SQFI on Nov 04, 2019 prior to SQF Conference. Which is not over.

Any help appreciated, looking for following information:

- avenues where I can give this exam (I am in Canada and would like to either take at Toronto or online)

- resources to prepare for this exam

Hello TN JK,

I took the GFSI post farm gate (GMP) proctored exam online at home. The exam was tricky not difficult ;). You cannot refer to any material/use of internet and phone is not allowed. If you have knowledge about GFSI schemes and you have gone through audits you should be fine. You can contact BRCGS or Primus GFS regarding the exam and they will set up for you and will send you the links on how to take the exam online. You have to pay the fees for the exam. Hope this helps. We heard a rumor that GFSI is cancelling the exam requirement - or at least putting it on hold.

In the April Update for SQF Auditors on Alchemy Academy they mentioned many times that they had not yet suspended the need for the exam.  SQFI said they had a whole slew of auditors in queue who only needed the knowledge exam to start working, but that GFSI was not holding any classes, and did not yet suspend the need for the exam.  That was a month ago.
