Product Protection Points - A method for annual program review

I'm reviewing our filters/magnets program for a facility that has had filters and magnets added as knee-jerk reactions to foreign material events over the last several years. Does anyone have good general reference material for where PPP should be located in a line? I know to review customer complaints and foreign material findings to determine where PPP are needed in our specific facility but I'm also looking for some kind of industry or academic reference of effective placement of PPP. Examples would be before main pumps, at delivery of bulk goods, at finished packaging, etc.

Hmmmm. Not sure if there is any guidance on where you must install magnets and filters. It would be more of a determination once you complete your hazard analysis and identification of potential hazards. GFSI schemes do not make direct mention of locations either. One source that may help is the AIB consolidated Standards for Inspection where they do identify some requirements.

I assume PPP = PRP.
There may be some confusion.
Generally PRPs are not specifically related to the (functioning) Process Line.
That's why they are called PRPs.
Nonetheless implementation of individual PRPs would obviously require a preliminary risk assessment of the relevant parts of the overall system.
