Hi all,

Updated handling procedure and written policy are required for the contractors and visitors. Basically, it is required for bakery which has waste contractor (already have contract for waste collection and security company)

The main concern is for the visitor, for visitor we have health questionnaire which is acknowledge by visitor before entering to the facility.  identification card is issued as per requirements.

The above highlighted documents are enough for the supplier quality management system under food safety

Looking for senior’s experiences and support

Regards,

Ashfaq Hussain

Hi Ashfaq,

On top of the questionnaire, visitors will need to know the requirements for the site for example PPE and jewellery rules / nut-free / smoking etc etc. I have a document detailing these types of things that visitors must read prior to entering the production facility.

Are you with a scheme? BRC for instance has certain requirements for visitors and contractors, I'd expect it's a similar case with the others.

Our policy and GMPs are written and posted at our reception area and when a visitor signs in they have to  state who they are, company they are with, who they're here to see, the time of arrival, the nature of their business and their departure time with a statement that they have read, understand and agree to abide by the stated policy and GMPs. The receptionist gauges their health condition (as well as the policy statement to health condition which they agree to). The receptionist can then determine if they are admitted. If they have a cold or sniffles etc, and are here to see someone in the office, the risk is almost non-existent and can enter. If they are going into the plant they can't be admitted and have to make other arrangements.
