Flying Insect Trend Analysis

I would like to ask for your advice regarding the following scenario;
A food handling facility has total of 20 Insect Light Traps (ILTs) distributed in different areas within the facility, i was requested to make a trend analysis for the trapped flying insect.
I don't have a problem with data analysis and generating charts, the question is how should i collect the data. Shall i count the total number of flying insects caught on each glue board? or i shall get only the average by taking a grid-sample of that glue board?
Further; if i counted the trapped flies this month, how i'm supposed to count next month the same glue board? or in this case glue boards should be replaced after each counting time?!

I wanted the same info but for rodents. Do you use a 3rd party pest control? If yes, they should be providing that trend analysis info for you. Contact them and ask them for it.
Your your pest control company should have that data for you...
I would also like to add, depending on the frequency your pest control comes to your facility, they should be changing out your glue boards/traps. And detailing in your service reports your findings. That is one way to find your trend, the other is like I mentioned previously, is through your pest company. For example our pest control stop by weekly, change out the glue boards/traps, verbally discuss their findings with me, and provide me with a service report that details an estimate count of how many flies were detected, for example 5-10, 11-25 flies.

Logically, the counting method depends on the numbers. 20 is not like 2000.
