Hi everyone, just want to ask if a plastic slider for folder is a brittle material? thank you!

Maybe?

"Plastic" covers quite a wide range of materials, some of which are brittle and some of which are not...

Hard to judge without knowing exactly what the object/material is. Is it a spine bar?

If you were to damage it, would it likely crack/shatter rather than bend or dent? If so then likely brittle.

Here's some descriptions of brittleness that will hopefully assist your assessment (and hopefully not overcomplicate things  )

Brittleness describes the property of a material that fractures when subjected to stress but has a little tendency to deform before rupture.

Brittleness identifies material easily broken, damaged, disrupted, cracked, and/or snapped. Specimens of such materials fracture without appreciable material yielding.
