Approval of labels for exporting products to Canada
Hello all,
Anyone knows if is necessary approve labels for export products to Canada and how to do that?
Thanks
There is no approval of labels in Canada. You have to ensure you comply with all labeling guidelines under Food and Drugs Act (FDA), the Food and Drug Regulations (FDR), the Safe Food for Canadians Act (SFCA) and the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR).
Here is a labeling tool used by the industry in Canada:

There are also specific regulations on some health claims which you can find on the labeling tool.

All food products sold in Canada, whether produced in Canada or abroad, must meet the same food safety standards.
All prepackaged food products sold in Canada are required to be labelled with the name and principal place of business of the company responsible for the product, such as the importer or manufacturer.
