How can i determine my swab points for allergen swab test?
Hi. :)
I would like to ask how can i determine my swab points for allergen swab test, I already did tests with food contact surfaces, should I also include non-food contact surfaces?
For example : seamer/seaming machine for canned tuna
Thank you. :)
I tend to only focus on food contact areas, as they pose the highest risk to be introduced to my non allergenic products. Curious to see what other, more experienced people say.
Consider likely of transfer from Non-FCS to FCS during normal operations and sanitation. There is not the same level of risk with Non-FCS, but depending on risk level and potential frequency of transfer you definitely want to consider swabbing / testing Non-FCS. Also, take into considering of your verification / validation of Non-FCS cleaning. Can this be used in lieu of allergen swabbing those areas? Or, can you replace it with allergen swabbing of those Non-FCS areas?

This is why zoning was invented.

Thank you for your answers. We have zonings but for EMP, for allergen swab test I used the points from zone 1. Is that okay? :)

Probably not.
Can study the zoning models here -
