FSSC Ver. 4.1 Additional Requirement 2.1.4.11 Supplier Approval

Hello everyone,

In our recent audit in FSSC Ver. 4.1 stage 1, we have a non-critical non conformance on the Supplier Approval in Case of Emergency as the additional requirement 2.1.4.11. How do we deal with supplier approval in case of emergency? Will a statement in our procedure that "non-approved supplier needs to be assessed and the product must meet the specification" will do? then a checklist and tight timeline in reference to the statement?

Hi Agie_19

Yes I think you got it right as long the statement is supported with tight time line. it should meet the requirement of the system.

Hi Agie_19,

Good day!

Requirement 2.1.4.1 is all about Management of Services (Calibration, Manpower, Security, Sanitary, etc). You just have to set criteria for the selection of non-approved service provider and from there assess whether they're able to meet the minimum requirements in case of an emergency situation.

For example:

Manpower

1. Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Certificate of Registration*

2. Compliance to basic labor standards (SSS, Pag-ibig, Philhealth)*

3. Fit to work certificate*

4. Service Agreement

5. Food Safety Awareness Course

*Minimum requirements to be satisfied in case of emergency

2 Thanks

Thank you for this inputs. This will help us in our revision of the procedure.
