Acceptable Gluten Free Training for BRCGS
“The GFMS team leader must have taken and passed the GFCP industry training course, or an equivalent course that is acceptable to BRCGS.
In the Gluten Free Module, add on for BRCGS this is in clause 1.4, apart from the training online at BRCGS, I am unable to find anything else. I have asked my training provider what else is on on offer that an auditor can accept and they are unaware, has anybody gone through this module and if so what training was acceptable please.
Thanks
Aileen
Hi! We've attended to a course about celiac disease by our national celiac organization (in spain is FACE) because we have some retail products with gluten free claim.
My BRC audit is in April and I expect that this could comply with the clause... There is not much experience about the module and our internal auditors don't have information neither.
Kind regards
The online GFCP course covers both celiac disease and it's impact on consumers, key strategies from a manufacturers point of view to manage the risk, hidden sources of gluten that put brands at risk, regulatory perspective from a more global view, as well as the expectations in the certification to the standard, so it is well rounded (admitting my bias of course).
Good to have training from a celiac association, it no doubt highlights the consumer side of the disease, but consideration from the manufacturers perspective would certainly enhance the training. Nice to have the online option, especially for a training course that runs about 4 hours, and covers so much.
