SQF 11.2.3.6, NC employees wearing own cloth gloves under vinyl gloves
We recently had a SQF audit and received a minor due to our employees wearing cloth gloves (their own personal gloves) and then putting on vinyl gloves on top of the cloth gloves. He wrote it up as follows: 11.2.3.6 The site provides disposable gloves to production employees, but two employees were observed wearing pink and red cotton or wool gloves under the disposable gloves, the cotton or wool gloves were stored in the employees pockets; additionally several employees were observed during production exchanging disposable gloves and not observing the required hand washing procedure, (Minor). I am just curious what would be the corrective action for this minor?
The company could buy some disposable cotton gloves that employees can use as liners.
Company has re-trained employees on proper use of gloves and hand washing procedures. (see attached training record)
Company has ordered non-fraying cloth lined disposal gloves for employees needing same (see attached purchase order, photo)
Company has retrained employees on sanitary practices (i.e. not sharing gloves)
Very surprised your Auditor did not whack your company with a major.
