Migration test should be remade at every change in production parameters (new raw materials, new supplier, modification of production scheme or machines...). Anyway, its generally thought that technical documents (like migration test results) provided by suppliers should not be older than 3 years even no change has occured.

Hi Usman,

it is depending upon the Raw material source if you are going with the risk assessment. if your raw material sources changed than you need to do the testing.

However, in most of companies it is being carried out on yearly basis on the risk assessment for the monitoring purpose.

i also suggest you to take reference from your regulatory body and need to check which of the migration testing required.

Basau Khator

What do you manufacture, if I may ask? I assume you are manufacturing packaging products? We are a paperboard packaging manufacturer. We require all suppliers to perform migrations testing and require a letter of continuing guarantee annually for all materials they provide. We keep the information on file for each and present them at our annual re-certification audit.

No, we do not make the pallets. We make paperboard packaging for bakery type products.
