Looking for a link to subscribe to updates on bottled water regulations

I have been looking through different government sites, both federal and provincial. I am working on section 2.4 of my SQF project (working towards our first SQF Audit and I have just started in December and my boss wants us ready and audited in june! eek) I am looking for a way to subscribe to newsletters/notices, or something like that for when any legislation is updated. (we are a water bottling plant that ships worldwide) any ideas on where I can accomplish this? Thanks!

First, please inform your boss to get educated on the process of becoming SQF Certified - June is a pipedream.  When a company elects to have their own personnel develop an SQF system the normal time at minimum that we see is four months, then there is the need for implementation, then having a pre-audit review, then have the audits done.  As consultants and because we do developments all the time our normal turn time for a base system is under 30 days, but still the facility then needs to implement and at minimum that will be 3-6 months.

So, please inform him that his time-line is way out of whack.  If you started in December and it is now mid-Feb and you are only now at 2.4 you have some time to go, your boss is putting way too much pressure on you.

As to your question - the FDA and the water bottling association.

My boss signed us up to try for certification in the beginning of september before I was even hired. I worked on the production line for 2 full months, then we moved to a brand new building. So I have been working on developing SQF since the beginning of December with little to no guidance. It has definetly been stressful. I am hoping I can get us there for june, maybe july (not sure if we are allowed to ask for an extension on the time frame (haven't really been told if there is a time limit on the audit once you sign up for certification?) Thanks for the info!

You simply contact the CB and tell them to change the dates for the desk audit and certification audit.
