Introduction from Nashii

Im new here and have a dilemma to share.

I have been working at HACCP based food industrues abd catering groups for the past 7 years.

My new job has the iso 22000 and iso 9001 and it is all becoming confusing.

I assumed they would all be the same and have HACCP system built in with organization work procedures etc.

Someone help me.. in the iso 22000 do we do away with standard operating procedures and schedules etc.?

You probably need to acquire/study the relevant Standards.

 

Traditional HACCP systems tend to be relatively prescriptive.

 

ISO22000 (and iso9001) is relatively generic and has an individually developed form of haccp, namely iso-haccp. The latter is partly based on Codex haccp but with a modified/expanded perspective.

 

However iso22000 does still use SOPs for certain elements.

Unless ISO22000 has changed, SOPs are called Controlled Documented Procedures CDPs. The auditor we had for ISO22000 insisted I change the SOPs to CDPs and now we are SQF certified, I consulted our staff who advised they would like them to be SOPs instead of CDPs, so I am changing them all back again. 

 

So there is still the requirement for procedures to be documented.
