How can I find out if METPET pouch bags are food grade?

I received sample bags that contain METPET and I would like to know if they pass as food grade before I commit to a large order of pouch bags from the factory we're talking to.
This is for a plant-based superfood powder.
My ultimate goal is to ensure the safety of our future customers.

Factory knows we are using this for our nutritional supplement. Can you get into more of what migation/food grade specs mean?
The factory we plan on using pouch bags from (packaging) sent us a few samples to check out. So if the empty bags pass as Food-Safe I have nothing to worry about and I can place an actual order with them for thousands of bags knowing my customers aren't going to absorb metals in their powder.

When "PET" film is laminated with metal foil they are then called "METPET."The lamination increases the film's oxygen/water barrier and blocks out UV rays.Most of this type of packaging is food grade and used for a number of dry goods such as cereal, pasta, rice cakes, etc.You do need to get the migation/food grade specs however from the manufacturer as not all of this type of packaging is intended for food, depending on the makeup of the poly and foil it can also be used for non-food.And you sure don't want to be using a non-food grade METPET for food.
Can you get into more of what migation/food grade specs mean?........
Just ask them for a specification sheet and ask them for a copy of their most recent 3rd party or GFSI (SQF, BRC, IFS, etc.) audit and/or certificate.
If they are local you might want to ask for a look behind the doors.
Most companies do checks on their packaging on a random sampling basis to ensure cleaniness of supply, no particles present, etc.
I think you shoud be good to go with what you have.
The superfood powders, seeds, smoothie mixes etc are pretty much all in the same arena of packaging type.

"Food Grade" is a phrase that has many different interpretations. It could refer to food additives that are purposely added to food. It may refer to food-contact packaging. It may refer to sanitizers and cleaners that are not meant to become a significant part of the food. It may refer to utensils and food preparation surfaces.
Metallized Polyester (METPET) is commonly used in food-contact packaging. The supplier should state that is compliant with the proper food-contact regulations. You can find METPET that is not approved for food-contact.
