Science moves forward continually.  It is best to be specific and identify the fruits or vegetables involved.  In addition, things like your location, the end use, packaging processes, equipment used, chemicals involved, etc. all play a part in determining risk.  Google has a scholar search engine (https://scholar.google.com/) that can be helpful in identifying the most relevant science involved.  If you provide more details about what it is you want help with, someone here can probably help you.

How do you interpret  "emerging" ?

 

Offhand, for "new",  I would suggest the appearance of further pathogenic varieties of E.coli, eg E. coli O157:H7
