Food Safety Culture Test Contents
Hello Everyone,
Does any one have any suggestions on what I should ask on a Food Safety Culture Test that I am trying to come up with?
So far I have a question about HAACP, CCP's, and GMP's
What else would be good to ask?
I would suggest general hygiene questions, allergen awareness, site security - I would suggest maybe looking at the training you provide and then take questions from that? Also if you think of any questions make sure it's in the training you provide.
Might be worth having a read of these - as it was a new requirement in Issue 8, there has been quite a lot of discussion on the forum already:

education and knowledge is a portion of culture, it is only part of it. I have attached a link to gfsi white paper on culture.

good. I believe that culture has 3 major aspects (management commitment, knowledge, and employee empowerment). I believe that the
survey should at least evaluate these three aspects. for instance, if all employees had a great understanding of sanitation, yet
management routinely not provide the time to clean properly, proper tools, indifference to sanitary conditions, etc, that could lead to
a poor food safety culture. involving employees in food safety improvements and recognizing employees who point out food safety issues
are examples of ways to help improve culture.
below are some links to examples of culture surveys (some food safety and some otherwise) as examples.
I would create a scoring system for each question. once surveys are evaluated act on the questions or areas that
appear to need improvement.
I hope this helps.

I always ask the food safety responsibility question:
Who are responsible for food safety?
1. Food handlers
2. Supervisors
3. Food business owners
4. All of the above
Surprisingly, I still get mixed answers here and they are amazed that the owners are also included. No one is above food safety.
