Is it ok to have a production office near the packaging area?

dear all 

 

we are bakery factory and I would like to ask if allowed to make small office near the PACKAGING AREA  for packaging supervisor, is that allowed or not and what regulation and standard for that to make office near the PACKAGING AREA

Yes, with safeguards. and I am assuming your mean in a non-gmp area. We have clients with offices off of production and packaging - sides of the building, door open inward to the office.

Hi Qcman,

 

It might relate to any specific local regulatory Standard  but, offhand, a typical safety requirement would be that the insertion not create any significant contamination risk with respect to the food product. The latter will likely depend on the product/personnel flowchart patterns.

Our office door opens into the production areas, so it is right next to it. Separate room - completely fine, ensure there are things like hand-washing, hair net dispenser etc. nearby. 

 

If you mean can you situate an office 'area' within the packaging area - as in not a separate room - just ensure there is nothing that could cause contamination / goes against already implemented policies and procedures.
